Throughout my research of different types of life style magazines, I have learnt that there are many different types of magazine genres. There are a variety of types of magazine to appeal to different genres such as sports, bridal, teen, fashion and many more.
People read magazines to entertain themselves. Magazines can be informative as well as compelling. Magazines appeal to people because of it's context and contents.


From creating my flat plan, I have learnt how to deconstruct a magazine and the planning is very important for creating a magazine. I have also found that there are a lot of pages in a magazine and lots of adverts. The contents inside a magazine are oftenly written to appeal to a certain age group or gender. Each magazine is mainly foucused around a specific genre of magazines, e.g. sports, gossip, fashion etc.

I have changed my flat plan to create my own magazine by creating a document of my own flat plan but I used some ideas from the original magazine.

Life Style Magazines Research

Life and Style magazine
The front cover has pictures to grab your attention and make you want to buy it.
For mainly women aged 20.
It would be about how to have a healthy diet and how to get a good shape.








Elle magazine
The front cover has big words and interesting information for people to want to read it.
It is for women aged 25 and over.
Its contents would be about fashion and clothing.






Seventeen magazine
The front cover has a picture of one of the most famous teen idols that are admired by a lot of people in these modern days so that teens would want to buy it.
It is aimed at teens.
It would have things about teen gossip and celebrities in it.







Rolling Stones magazine
The front cover has a picture of a very famous young teen celebrity also know as a ‘heart throb’ which makes young girls want to read it, this is good as he is also into music as well as acting in which helps promote their magazine more.
It is aimed at people who listen to music and watch TV.
Its contents would have information about music.






Country Kitchen magazine
The front cover has a picture of food on it and information on how to cook deserts, they make the food look appealing in order for more people to buy it.
It is aimed at adults.
Its contents would be about how to cook different types of food.







Contemporary Bride magazine
The front cover has a picture of a bride and it has information about the honeymoon and down the aisle.
It is for any woman getting married.
It’s contents will have lots of information very helpful to brides, it will help sell more to brides who are scared and need advice as it says ‘THE ENGAGED GIRL’S SURVIVAL GUIDE’ at the top.






SportsCar magazine
The front cover has a picture of cars racing, and has extra information to make you want to read it more.
It is for men mainly and boys.
It’s contents would have information about racing cars and would have a few images of sports cars.
